Woodturning taster evening

£70.00

Come and join us for this woodturning taster session.

You will be taught in a small class of two on electric lathes.

This session is ideal for absolute beginners who have an interest in woodturning. You will be introduced to the foundations of turning wood safely and we will explore spindle work and the correct use of appropriate tools for each stage. You will learn how to operate the machines safely and explore the wide variety of work that can be produced on a lathe.

Starting simply, you will explore forms such as a garden dibber, mallet and bud vase.

Native woods (elm, oak, beech, cherry) will be available to turn.

After this introduction, we would encourage you to sign up to our five session woodturning course where we explore all the different areas in depth.

Aim to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a prompt start.
