In this captivating workshop, you'll be delving into the mesmerising art of fire-making at the Clearing this winter. No prior experience necessary. You'll journey through the fundamentals of fire safety, the intricacies of using ferro rods and tinder, creating char cloth, mastering flint and steel, and the challenge of lighting wet wood fires. Not to mention the fascinating process of making charcoal in a fire! Don't worry if you're new to this – we'll guide you through every step, ensuring a safe and enriching experience.
You'll work with a variety of materials, all provided for you.
Children can join for free, with a limit of two children per paying adult.
The session will last 2.5 hours.

This is a beginner-friendly introduction workshop, you’ll get a knowledge and experience around open fires, plus take home some willow charcosl and char cloth.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing and bring snacks, a flask and something to share. We are all love biscuits!
This workshop is suitable for adults and children 8 years and older. An adult much accompany an attending children and pay for a separate ticket.
